What it does.

A short list, on purpose.

  1. Type anywhere on the page

    Click where a form wants an answer and type, even when the PDF has no real form fields.

  2. Fill and sign

    Fill in real form fields, then add a signature you drew, typed or imported. Your signature is stored only on your Mac.

  3. Redaction that removes

    Redacted text, images and hidden data are taken out of the file, not just covered with a black box.

  4. Smaller than 10 MB

    Pick a preset, or type a limit like 10 MB for an upload form. Buddy Files finds the best quality under it, or tells you it can't.

  5. Pages, images and scans

    Merge, split, rotate and reorder pages, turn images into PDFs and back, and make scanned PDFs searchable.

  6. Stays on your Mac

    No account, no uploads, no tracking. Your original file stays as it was unless you choose to overwrite it.

  • A license key by email from Polar, our checkout partner. It's also in Polar's customer portal if the email goes missing.
  • Up to 3 devices per key. When you replace a computer or phone, you free up its slot yourself.

Which Macs does Buddy Files run on?

Macs with Apple silicon (M1 or newer) on macOS 27 or later.

Do my files get uploaded?

No. Buddy Files does all of its work on your Mac, and it has no account and no tracking.

Can it convert Word or Excel files?

Not yet. Version one works with PDFs, images and plain text files.

How do I get my license key?

Polar, our checkout partner, emails it to you after you pay. It's also in Polar's customer portal if the email goes missing.
