ReisekostenBuddy
Work out your business trip expenses in Germany.
Enter when you left and when you got back, and ReisekostenBuddy works out your meal allowances, the deductions for meals your employer provided and your mileage at the rates set by German tax law. It turns the trip into a PDF for your travel expense claim (Reisekostenabrechnung). We're still building it.

What it does.
A short list, on purpose.
Start and end times are enough
Enter when you left and when you got back. It works out which days count as full days, arrival or departure days, or more than 8 hours away.
Meal allowances, worked out
€14 for an arrival or departure day or more than 8 hours away, €28 for each full day, at the 2026 rates.
Meals your employer provided
Tick breakfast, lunch or dinner when your employer provided it, and it takes off €5.60 or €11.20.
Mileage for your own car
Type the kilometres and it adds €0.30 per km, kept apart from your daily commute.
A PDF for payroll
One page with dates, times, each day's allowance, kilometres and the total, ready to hand in.
What you get.
One payment, one key.
- A license key by email from Polar, our checkout partner. It's also in Polar's customer portal if the email goes missing.
- Up to 3 devices per key. When you replace a computer or phone, you free up its slot yourself.
- €29, paid once. No renewal and no monthly fee.
- No expiry date. The key keeps working.

Questions.
About ReisekostenBuddy.
When does ReisekostenBuddy come out?
We don't have a date yet. Leave your email on this page, confirm it from the link we send, and we'll write again when it's ready.
Does my employer have to pay these amounts?
Not automatically. Tax law sets how much your employer can pay you tax-free. Whether they have to pay depends on your contract, collective agreement or company policy.
Is this tax advice?
No. It applies the published German rates to the trip you enter. For your own case, ask your payroll team or a tax advisor.
